BET Hip-Hop Awards ’10 Atlanta Weekend

Other awards to be decided include Lyricist of the Year (Jay-Z, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Drake), CD of the Year (B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, Recovery, Thank Me Later, The Blueprint 3, Teflon Don), Producer of the Year (Boi-1da, Drumma Boy, Lex Luger, Polow Da Don, Swizz Beatz), and Best Hip-Hip Blog Site (AllHipHop, Nah Right, Rap Radar, ThisIs50, WorldStarHipHop).

Last night, BET officially kicked off the festivities for the annual BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta with closed door rehearsals for several artists.

Throughout the weekend, the biggest names in mainstream Hip-Hop and R&B will be around town hosting parties and other assorted events. The show’s red carpet commences tomorrow from 2:30-4:30PM. The actual TV taping will begin promptly at 5PM. Comedian Mike Epps returns to host for second consecutive year.

Pioneering group Salt N Pepa will be honored with the “I Am Hip-Hop” award, celebrating their 25 years in the music industry.

Other awards to be decided include Lyricist of the Year (Jay-Z, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Drake), CD of the Year (B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, Recovery, Thank Me Later, The Blueprint 3, Teflon Don), Producer of the Year (Boi-1da, Drumma Boy, Lex Luger, Polow Da Don, Swizz Beatz), and Best Hip-Hip Blog Site (AllHipHop, Nah Right, Rap Radar, ThisIs50, WorldStarHipHop).

The cypher lineup for tomorrow includes Royce da 5’9, Vado, Laws, Yelawolf, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, Fonzworth Bentley, Reema and Nick Javas. Confirmed stage performers are Wacka Flocka Flame, Roscoe Dash, Swizz Beatz, B.o.B., Gucci Mane and J Cole.

The show airs live on October 12 at 8PM.
