There are episodes of FROM that move the story forward… and then there are episodes that quietly shift the entire psychological landscape of the show. Season 4, Episode 4 (“Of Myths and Monsters”) falls firmly into that second category.
This time, the horror isn’t just lurking in the woods or creeping through the town at night—it’s embedded in belief, control, and the terrifying realization that some characters are only just beginning to understand what they’re truly dealing with.
At the center of it all is Henry’s confrontation with the reality of the full trauma the Man in Yellow (Sofia) inflicted on his family. He thought he understood before, but his anguished cry after seeing Victor’s drawing symbolized how he wasn’t even close.
The Man In Yellow isn’t just manipulating events. He’s shaping belief systems (Marielle), bending perception (Sara, Kristi), and reveling in the god complex and omniscient power he holds in this world.
FATIMA’S GOLEM: A DISASTER IN THE MAKING?
The one storyline that feels destined for chaos is Fatima’s mental and emotional state as she edges closer to creating a golem. Although drawing from the eclectic spiritual knowledge bestowed by her father, golem’s have a strong folkloric history of being uncontrollable, and even murderous against those they were originally created to protect.
DONNA’S DEATH FORESHADOWED?
Donna (Elizabeth Saunders) has been a pillar of FROM since day one, which made her quiet, emotional moment with Tabitha stand out even more. In it, Donna makes it clear she would give her life for Tabitha’s kids before letting Tabitha make that sacrifice herself.
With Donna’s screen time noticeably reduced this season, it’s hard not to read this as the kind of character beat that sets up something devastating on the horizon.
