FROM S4.E7 Breakdown: Robert Joy and Scott McCord Discuss Victor & Henry’s Emotional Episode

"He's worried about his own sanity," Joy explained. "And he's looking for something he can count on. Everything he trusts is being pulled away from him by episode seven."

As FROM Season 4 enters its most volatile stretch, no resident appears closer to the edge than Henry. Once viewed as a grieving father desperate to reconnect with the son he lost decades ago, Henry has transformed into one of the town’s most outspoken skeptics. In episode seven, he openly challenges Boyd’s increasingly desperate plan to invade the Night Creatures’ tunnels and recover the remains of the buried children. Yet Henry’s objections may stem from something deeper than caution. After consuming Sofia’s blood, he now finds himself haunted by unsettling visions that blur the line between reality and illusion, leaving him questioning not only the town around him, but his own sanity.

Meanwhile, Victor continues navigating the emotional weight of reconnecting with his father while maintaining the relationships that have helped him survive the town’s horrors. During our exclusive interview, Robert Joy and Scott McCord discuss their characters’ evolving journeys, the growing strain on the Henry-Victor relationship, and the emotional undercurrents driving one of the show’s most compelling storylines.

“He’s worried about his own sanity,” Joy explained. “And he’s looking for something he can count on. Everything he trusts is being pulled away from him by episode seven. And to be expected to sign onto this thing of saving dead people, he’s not going to do it.”

Victor spent much of the episode caught between two of the most important relationships in his life. On one side is Tabitha, whose growing connection to Miranda’s memories continues to blur the line between surrogate and mother. On the other is Ethan, the closest thing Victor has ever had to a childhood friendship after the last mass massacre that left him alone for decades. Both relationships offer Victor something he desperately needs—connection, understanding, and a link to the past. When asked which bond carries greater emotional weight for Victor, McCord resisted choosing between them.

“I would give it all equal weight,” said McCord. “That subdued thing was a conscious working choice. It’s mostly because what was happening here [with Henry], was quite numbing. We’re trying to navigate this new relationship and a lifetime lost between us.”
