Artur Beterbiev and Joe Smith Jr. will be throwing haymakers in their June 18 unification main event, but the undercard will look towards the next generation of potential stars.
Brownsville, Brooklyn’s own Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (3-0, 2 KOs) returns to the Hulu Theater for a six-round bout. The 25-year-old Carrington is seeking to build on the momentum of a signature, highlight-reel knockout win over Yeuri Andujar in March.

Long Island’s Jahi Tucker (7-0, 4 KOs) will also compete in a six-rounder but has a much different task ahead. In his March decision win against Tracey McGruder, the 19-year-old Tucker was roundly criticized by the commentating team and on social media for failing to look dominant against an outclassed opponent. Tucker, who scored two second KOs in the fights preceding McGruder, has the opportunity to reshape the narrative again in front of his hometown fans.
Other prospects in action include U.S. Olympian and middleweight Troy Isley (5-0, 3 KOs), who last appeared on the Oscar Valdez-Shakur Stevenson undercard scoring a second-round stoppage over Anthony Hannah.
Former Irish national amateur team standouts Kurt Walker (2-0, 1 KO) and Kieran Molly (1-0, 1 KO) are set to make their U.S. debuts in the featherweight and junior middleweight divisions, respectively.
This card lineup will stream exclusively on ESPN+. Stay tuned to BeatsBoxingMayhem in the coming week weeks for exlusive interviews with “Shu Shu” Carrington and others leading up to fight week.
