Brisk sales for the December 28 Gervonta Davis vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa card have resulted in additional tickets being added and the event being expanded to a televised triple-header.

Upper bowl tickets on both sides of the State Farm Arena have been added, which expands tickets prices starting at $54 and $104 dollars. Prior to this announcement, less than 2000 tickets remained at the lower level.

Former super-middleweight title-holder Jose Uzcategui will face veteran Lionell Thompson in the TV opener. Uzcategui is one fight removed from losing the IBF title to Caleb Plant by decision in January. He rebounded with a first-round KO of Robert Valdez in September and is targeting another title run for 2020.

“Everyone will see the real ‘Bolivita’ on December 28 in Atlanta,” said Uzcátegui. “I’m very excited for this fight announcement and I’m thankful to everyone involved in making this happen. I’m going to be 100 percent ready for anything that my opponent brings and show the best version of myself. I’m ready to finish this year on a high and positive note with a win against Thompson.”

The 34-year old Thompson, who’s spent his 10-year career at light-heavyweight, will be making his 168-pound debut. While some would consider it risky to drop down in weight so late into a career, Thompson firmly believes 168 is his natural division.

“Some people told me I’m too small for light-heavyweight, so I made the decision to come down to 168,” said Thomspon, who stopped Scott Sigmon in seven rounds last September. ” The only real fight I see is to make weight the right way. They say he’s a big puncher, but I can punch too. I’ve hung in there with the best of the best again and again. It’s the guys who come to fight that really bring the best out of me so if he comes to fight, this will be a great fight for the fans.”

The co-main event features WBA light-heavyweight titlist Jean Pascal defending against Badou Jack.

The card will air live on Showtime Championship Boxing at 9 p.m. ET.
