Gennady Golovkin and Sergiy Derevyanchenko are on hand in New York City to officially announce their October 5 championship matchup. The stakes are high as this matchup is for the IBF middleweight title, which was originally stripped from GGG last year when he declined to face Derevyanchenko. The aforementioned Deveryanchenko lost in his first title shot against Danny Jacobs last year and couldn’t come to terms to face Canelo for the belt last month (Canelo was subsequently stripped).
