[Trailer] An Infamous Hitman Comes to Life in Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Irishman’

"I heard you paint houses..."

The story of former Teamster president Jimmy Hoffa’s disappearance is well-known. But the story of his right-hand man and alleged murderer, the notorious hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, is not. That now changes with our first look at Martin Scorsese’s ambitious gangster saga The Irishman.

Scorsese has assembled an esteemed cast to bring to life some of the most notorious organized crime figures of post-World War II America. Joe Pesci plays powerful mafia boss Russell Bufalino, a man who ran northeastern Pennsylvania with an iron fist from the 1950s through early 90s. Al Pacino takes the role of the outspoken and charismatic Hoffa. Harvey Keitel handles the role of Philadelphia Mafia boss Angelo Bruno, who ruled over 20 years before being cut down in a grisly shotgun ambush.

The crown jewel of the performers in Robert DeNiro taking on the title role of Sheeran, a former WW2 veteran who uses his deadly combat skills as an enforcer for the Mob. Burdened by his murderous history, the story has an older Sheeran recounting his criminal past and what led him to be involved in the murder of his close friend Hoffa.

The Irishman is tentatively scheduled for a Thanksgiving release on Netflix.
