The "grudge match" ends in anticlimatic fashion.

SIDNEY — Jeff Horn likely put an end to Anthony Mundine’s career by easily dispatching his rival with a left hook in the opening round.

Mundine, who is 43 and 2-3 in his last five fights, looked physically weak and lethargic. His reaction time was poor and Horn used a right hand to the body to keep Mundine on the ropes before doubling the left hook for the knockout.

The win is Horn’s first appearance since suffering his lone defeat at the hands of WBO title-holder Terence Crawford in June.

Mundine falls to 48-9.
