Is third time the charm? Look, if we’re honest, we can admit that the Thor movies haven’t exactly set the world on fire. Sure, they’re tolerable, but they’ve always felt like holdovers and nonessential while we wait for the big dogs (Captain America, Iron Man).
Thor: Ragnarok might change that. Reportedly, the storyline will factor heavily into Infinity Wars via this film’s focus on the Reality Gem. The tone, from the font of the title to the musical selections, shows a strong influence from Guardians of the Galaxy. We have a sinister villain in Hela (Cate Blanchett), marking the first time in the Marvel universe we see a woman possessing this type of cosmic power. And finally, parts of the well-received Planet Hulk comic storyline will get to play out in this movie.
