The daily 9-5 grind is no joke, but J-Live turns it into a beautiful struggle with his poetic lyrics for “Money Matters,” the first single off his upcoming album Around the Sun (Spring 2014). Oddisee’s production is appropriately layered by maintains an airy, dreamy feel that’s well-suited for lyrical introspection. After all these years, J-Live is still one of the most underrated emcees in the game.
