While Drake and Big Sean have both downplayed an answer record to Ludacris “Bada Boom,” the DTP head is going all out with a history-cognizant video for his buzzing diss track. For the first minute, Luda takes viewers down a short recollection of memorable battles starting with Busy Bee and Kool Moe Dee down through Pac, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z and LL Cool J. Luda accentuates his stance of Sean disrespecting Hip-Hop’s legacy by interspersing clips of Rakim, Special Ed and Big Daddy Kane to show he’s on the correct side of history. All this is made more digestible by an sultry female lead whose outfit is a nod to the 1997 sci-fi The Fifth Element. Drake and Big Sean will never be mistaken for confrontational or battle rappers, but you have to assume at some point their pride as emcees will kick in even with the facts being on Luda’s side.
