“Niggas rap albums sound like love letters…”
As if you needed any other reason to be excited about Random Axe’s debut, the trio leaked yet another banger today called “Chewbacca.” The production has been top-notch thus far; it has the spirit of the 90’s NY sound without being a simple retread. The only big issue I see is if this group can actually craft a project with engaging enough content to keep the listener’s ear for a full album. So far the leaks have just been straight spitting and destroying wack emcees. We’ll find out what concepts Random Axe has in store next week (June 14). And based on Roc Marciano’s work here, the guest emcees holding up their end doesn’t appear to be a problem.
