Jhene Aiko ft. Nas – “10K Hours”

When I say I want to see you/ That means something deeper to me...

What better way to start off your weekend than with Jhene Aiko and Nas over some sparse, jazz piano-based production? For Jhene Aiko’s third album Chilombo, the Los Angeles singer’s latest single is a somber yearning on broken love titled “10K Hours.”

The woman usually senses the relationship fissures first, and Jhene details the empty feelings of knowing you’ve become an afterthought. The missing of quality time is reflected by the title with 10,000 hours representing a symbolic number of how painfully long separation feels.

Nas’ flow is sharp, continuing his recent trend of killing features (see Lil Nas X’s Rodeo remix). It seems more and more like Big Sean wasn’t blowing hot air when he said Nas has a new album coming, as it appears these recent appearances are strategic to get the Queensbridge legend’s name back out there across diverse fanbases.

Jhene Aiko’s Chilombo is available now on all streaming platforms.
