HBO Boxing is now in the rear view of history. The network ended their relationship with the Sweet Science this past weekend when Cecilia Braekhus’ defeated Aleksandra Lopes in Saturday’s main event.
It proved to be an emotional farewell as Jim Lampley, Roy Jones, Larry Merchant and Max Kellerman all reflected on the iconic moments they covered. Although it’s difficult to condense such a rich legacy in just 20 minutes, the closing thoughts and final montage was a still a beautiful sendoff to conclude an era.
