Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin were both well below the maximum allotted weight for today’s mandatory WBC 30-day weigh-in.
Golovkin, who holds the WBA and WBC middleweight titles, tipped the scales at 168.3 pounds. Canelo came in a pound less at 167.4. The WBC requires that each fighter weigh no more than 176 pounds 30 days out.
The two fighters rematch on September 15 live on HBO pay-per-view from the T-Mobile Arena.
