CHICAGO — Premier Boxing Champions heads to Chi-town tonight with the double-header of Anthony Dirrell vs. Badou Jack and Danny Jacobs taking on Caleb Truax. Yesterday’s weigh-in proved to be chippy with everyone delivering last-minute trash-talk and warnings.
DIRRELL: 167.4
JACK: 167.6
PREDICTION: DIRRELL TKO4. Badou Jack seems to be lacking confidence since his devestating first round KO defeat to Derek Edwards last year. His offense and overall demeanor in his recent comeback fights has the look of someone that’s overly cautious. Dirrell is a hard puncher and a capable inside fighter, which is where I think he takes this fight and finishes off Jack quickly.
JACOBS: 159.4
TRUAX; 159.6
PREDICTION: This is a solid fight. The difference here is due to Jacobs’ natural talent of having quicker hands, better power and being more explosive in his offense. Truax is essentially playing the role of the workman-like contender. While I believe he can withstand Jacobs’ power, he’ll be a step behind most of this fight. JACOBS WIDE UD
