Tallinn, Estonia — Robert Helenius (20-0, 12 KOs) ended a two-year sabbatical last night with an easy first round stoppage of Andras Csomor (11-5-1, 9 KOs) at the Tondiraba Ice Hall.
A check left hook followed by a right hand put the aggressive Csomor down just 25 seconds in. A brief exchange saw Csomor hurt again by a right hand. Wobbled and trapped on the ropes, a succession of clubbing, unanswered rights forced the referee stoppage with 1:59 remaining.
Once a top European prospect after crushing wins over faded former titlists Sam Peter and Lamon Brewster, and contenders like Dereck Chisora, Helenius was forced to sit out the last two years due to contract issues with promoter Sauerland Event and injuries.
At 31 years old, “The Nordic Nightmare” is expected to be very active in 2015 to make up for lost time.[youtube https://youtu.be/I4taQ1fWZ0g]
