IBF middleweight titlist Jermain Taylor claimed self-defense in a Wednesday (December 24) incident where he threw a brick into a woman’s vehicle to avoid an alleged hit and run in Arkansas.
30-year-old Sarah Walker called authorities and accused Taylor of throwing a brick through her car window that left her bleeding at the elbow and with vehicle damage. The two were reported to be acquaintances.
Police interviewed Taylor, who acknowledged throwing the brick but claimed it was done to avoid being run over.
Charges were not filed against Taylor nor Walker, who was treated at the scene. The reports states the two are acquaintances.
Taylor is coming off an upset win over Sam Soliman in October to win a portion of the middleweight title.
At press time, Taylor is scheduled to go on trial in June for shooting his cousin in a domestic dispute. He faces first degree battery and terroristic threats charges.
