May 13 will mark the first posthumous release of Michael Jackson’s catalogue. The title track, “Xscape,” finds the King of Pop in aggressive form as he takes aim at those who criticize his lifestyle, a gold-digging love interest, and other assorted career and personal challenges. Jackson’s voice sounds fine, but the beat is derivative of his older work (and done better previously).
