Jennifer Hudson and Nicki Minaj had two of the more memorable performances from last night’s Grammys, although in Minaj’s case it wasn’t for the right reasons. Hudson delivered a classy tribute to the late Whitney Houston with a no frills, spotlight-only version of “I Will Always Love You.” Minaj went for her usual over the top theatrics with the debut of a new track entitled “Roman Holiday.” The only consolation you can get from the actual song is that it’s an improvement over “Stupid Hoe” at least.
As it’s been stated on this website before, there’s a difference between being a “character” and a “caricature,” and this Roman Zolanski persona has Nicki leaning heavily towards the latter.
