Those of you who caught ESPN’s 30 for 30 documentary “One Night in Vegas: Tyson & Tupac” last night heard a snippet of the previously unreleased Tupac track “Ready to Rumble.” The song was made specifically for Iron Mike’s September ’96 title match against Bruce Seldon. It now holds a somber place in Hip-Hop history as one of the last tracks Tupack Shakur recorded before his fatal shooting.
This is ripped straight off last night’s broadcast courtesy of www.tupacnation.net. You can hear Tyson’s entourage shouting “Allahu Akbar” in the beginning and boxing announcer Jimmy Lennon, Jr coming in at the end. The track is vintage Pac, and what’s even more amazing is after listening to the beat about three times, he was able to finish the song in roughly six minutes. It’s just another example of why Tupac Shakur is one of the most prolific emcees in Hip-Hop history.
Hopefully a full version finds its way onto the net soon. For now, enjoy the sample.
2Pac “Ready to Rumble” (Mike Tyson Tribute)
think there was a really bad audio version of this, ripped of the tv or someone in the crowd recoded it live on youtube few years back… good to hear this clearer version
pac also made a fight intro for tyson over ‘ambitionz of a ridah’ beat, called ‘ambitionz of a fighta’
i thought ‘time for sum acktion’ by redman was cool to…
actually it was ‘road 2 glory’ i herd on youtube while back… it was made for the frank bruno fight…
Tupac is and always will be the greatest in my book.
