The tumultuous life of Mike Tyson takes center stage this summer with the eight-episode mini-series Mike. Starring Trevante Rhodes as the legendary Brownsville, Brooklyn fighter, the cast also includes Harvey Keitel (Cus D’Amato), Laura Herrier (Robin Givens), Ethan Dubin (Teddy Atlas) and Scott MacDonald (Tyson’s trainer).
Spanning Tyson’s personal and professional life starting in adolescence, the series aims to examine “class in America, race in America, fame and the power of media, misogyny, the wealth divide, the promise of the American Dream and ultimately own own role in shaping Mike’s story.”
The unauthorized series comes from creator/screenwriter Steven Rogers, showrunner Karin Gist, and the team behind I, Tonya.
Mike premieres on August 25.
