PREDICTION: Crolla is a textbook boxer with a good motor and strong right hand. Despite his low KO%, he’s an underrated body puncher with both hands and could bother Loma early (note his back to back body shot KOs over Darleys Perez and Ismael Barroso). However, Lomachenko is too multifaceted for me to see Crolla pulling off the monumental upset.
The key difference is Lomachennko’s footwork and hand speed. Crolla will struggle to pull the trigger when Lomachenko side-steps him and gets off first with flashy combinations. Because Lomachenko alternates the speed on his shots from pity pat to hard, Crolla won’t be able to time what’s coming at him.
