A federal judge has denied bail for Taxstone on federal weapons charges in the fatal shooting of BSB Banga (Ronald McPhatter) at Manhattan’s Irving Plaza last May.
Taxstone, real name Daryl Campbell, was originally granted a $500,000 bond and house arrest on Tuesday by Judge Andrew Peck. This was revoked by Judge Lewis Kaplan after prosecutors convinced him Campbell posed a risk to the community. The prosecution revealed a witness has identified Campbell as the man who fired the fatal shot into McPhatter.
Prosecutors have yet to officially charge Taxstone with the killing, but acknowledged additional charges could be issued in state court. The official complaint states Campbell’s DNA was found on the murder weapon’s trigger and magazine.
Taxstone has been in custody since his arrest on Monday morning.
