Former Death Row Records CEO Marion “Suge” Knight fell unconscious Friday morning after receiving news of his bail being set at $25 million.
Knight, who is being held by LA authorities on murder charges stemming from a January 29 hit and run incident, had to be lifted onto a gurney and treated at a Los Angeles county jail hospital.
Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Barnes made the case for the high bail amount based Knight’s criminal record over the past decade. She presented 31 documented incidents that implicated Knight in a “street tax” extortion scheme of rappers and athletes attempting to work in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Knight was also named in various money laundering, assault, robbery and witness intimidation crimes.
Knight is accused of using his truck to run over Terry Carter and injure Cle “Bone” Sloan after an argument and fight near the set of N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. Carter later died from his injuries[youtube https://youtu.be/B_NttEB0mFg]
