Last night, Nas was one of the esteemed panelists on CNN’s Race and Justice in America II, moderated by Anderson Cooper. The other panelists included BET Editorial Director Michaela Angela Davis, exonerated Central Park Five member Raymond Santana, Dr. Andre Perry Cornell Belcher, Charles Blow and radio host David Webb. Even though he’s an elder in the Hip-Hop world, Nas’ presence there was to represent Hip-Hop culture (ie. young people).
Nas begins to chip in around the 12-minute mark, but the entire discussion is worth a watch. Hope to see CNN open up their Hip-Hop horizons further and get guys like Killer Mike, David Banner and Immortal Technique on these type of forums as well (yeah, I know I’m pushing it).
