With his new album Ambition poised to have an opening sales week of over 170,000, you have to give Wale a lot of credit. After dismal overall sales of his Interscope debut Attention Deficit, he could have easily faded off into the sunset. He raised eyebrows in signing with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group, but it turns out that move was essential in getting him the exposure needed for this comeback. I met Wale back in 2008 when he was first buzzing at Atlanta’s A3C Festival, so I’m happy to see him finally getting that mainstream success he’s worked so hard for.
