The IRS is claiming that Floyd Mayweather is again behind on his taxes, this time to the tune of 3.4 million.
Mayweather previously had to pay the IRS 5.6 million in back taxes from his 2007 earnings. Mayweather had his most successful year as a boxer during that time with over 60 million earned for bouts against Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton in addition to a Wrestlemania appearance. The majority of those owed taxes were paid through his 2009 comeback fight against Juan Manuel Marquez, which generated 1 million in pay-per-view buys. The latest tax bill is from Mayweather’s ’09 earnings.
Mayweather had brough recent attention to finances by posts on his official Facebook and Twitter by five-figure winnings he secured by betting on NBA games.
At press time, Mayweather could not be reached for comment.
