T.I. made his first public appearance following last week’s drug bust in Los Angeles by holding a mini-concert at Atlanta’s Club Ritz.
T.I. and wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle are currently out on bail after being arrested last Wednesday (September 1) for felony possession of a controlled substance. The couple tested positive for the drug Ecstasy.
The Atlanta star performed “Motivation” off Urban Legend and went into one his signature hits, Trap Muzik’s “24s,” as St. Louis rapper Nelly joined him on stage.
The arrest has completely overshadowed the success of T.I.’s film Takers, which he holds a co-producer credit on. The film debuted last week at #1. The arrest is a violation of his parole agreement for a 2007 plea bargain conviction on felony weapons charges. T.I. served seven months last year in federal prison before spending the rest of his time in a halfway house. He was released in March.
Tameka Cottle has a previous 2007 arrest for Ecstasy and marijuana following an ATF raid on the couple’s home.
T.I.’s court hearing will be in November. At press time, his camp has not released any statement on if his next studio album King Uncaged will be delayed.
