Talk about a violent lineup. Queens legend Kool G Rap has released theĀ second single from his Return of the Don album, featuring street veterans Manolo Rose, Cormega and Sheek Louch over morose production that almost feels like a funeral procession.

ā€œWhat motivates me to get in the studio is really being in that creative zone that you cannot just enter on demandā€ G Rap said. ā€œIt is more like an extremely powerful vibe that overcomes you. Itā€™s triggered by hearing a particular track, or being inspired by another artistĶ¾ or, a life experience that makes your mind and heart open up and lyrics just pour from your soul in the capacity of an avalanche. Thatā€™s what The Return Of The Don represents; an amalgamation of past, present and future and a tribute to some of my most favorite spitters worldwide; this is my salute to those artists.”

Return of the Don drops on June 2 and also features guest spots from Noreaga, Sean Price, Ransom, Fred the Godson, Raekwon, Willie the Kid, Termanology and Saigon.

Cormega returns with new music with the Havoc and Giggs featuring “Ironic.” It’s nothing new for Mega to link up with QB fam Havoc, but the Giggs appearance is an interesting twist since the latter is from London. No word yet on if this is a prelude to a new album.

One of the more memorable lines and philosophies from Baby Boy is the basis for this new cinematic banger from Cormega entitled “Guns And Butter.” Harry Fraud’s productions fits Mega and Gunplay like a glove, making youwonder if these two good friends might have enough chemistry for an EP or mixtape. No word yet on if a new Mega project is underway.

I don’t glorify the ghetto/I tell you the real… –Ā CORMEGA

New video off Cormega’s Mega Philosophy album with the lovely Maya Azucena on the hook. Azucena’s vocals are reminiscent of Amel Larrieux’s lush sound during her Groove Theory days. On the lyrical front, Mega offer sharp analysis on overcoming poverty and not succumbing to street life.

With his Large Professor-producedĀ album Mega Philosophy now in stores, Cormega drops some visuals for his lead single “Industry.” Mixed in with Louis Farrakhan’s industry analysis are images of emcees affected by the game’s cold truths.

CormegaĀ gives a nod to Hip-Hop’s favorite visual artist with his second single off the upcoming Mega Philosophy project. For those who can sometimes be put off by Mega’s unorthodox flow, here he rhymes effortlessly over the upbeat production. Mega Philosophy will be available on July 22.
