For this year’s A3C, organizers will drop the festival’s first ever compilation entitled A3C Volume 1.
Although the A3C has had mixtape compilations in the past, this official project will be distributed nationally in stores through iHipHop on October 6.
The first single is Freeway’s “For the Paper.” The lush, vibrant Latin horns will remind some listeners of the sound heard on Jay-Z’s “Thank You.” The big Roc connection is Freeway using Jay’s lyrics from “Dead Presidents” for the chorus.
The 2010 A3C Festival featured performances from Jean Grae, Mistah Fab, 9th Wonder, Exile, Camp Lo, Rhymefest, REKS, Statik Selektah and many others.
