Mobb Deep & Alchemist Give Thanks to Fans on “Love Y’all More”

” A poor man’s lifestyle/A rich man’s salary”

Prodigy’s incarceration had deprived us of new Mobb Deep for the past few years. Now that’s he’s home, the Queens duo wasted no time linking up with Alchemist for some smooth riding music on “Love Y’all More.”

Prodigy reversed his artistic downward spiral before his sentence with the Return of the Mac album. Alchemist discovered that Prodigy’s acquired smoker’s voice and subdued flow was best presented over 70s soul and funk samples that are heavy on string and horn arrangements. For all intents in purpose, this could have been used on that album. Prodigy’s trademark tough talk is absent. He’s understandably happy to be free and thanking the fans for their support. Havoc has been steadily working while his partner was away, so his flow is a lot sharper here.

Good starting point for the Mobb. We’ll see what else they’ll cook up in the coming months. Shout out to Funkmaster Flex for nabbing this exclusive.
