Would you expect a a different theme with these two on the track? Pusha is in pure Clipse form with a succinct verse chock-full of vivid poetic imagery (“I can baptize this brick/ As I wash away my sins/ Like a Catholic…”). Jay takes the approach of a Don who actually succeeds in insulating himself from prosecution (“We got storefronts/ We got employee stubs/ We been opening studios and 40/40s up/ The paper trail is gorgeous…”).
Pusha T gets the nod here due to the sharper flow, but both came correct. Hopefully Jay sticks around and continues to shake the rust off because as good as this is, we all know the lyrical greatness Mr. Carter is capable of.
