OAKLAND — Andre Ward’s first fight since 2013 had a minor issue yesterday with opponent Paul Smith failing to make the contracted 172 pound catchweight. Ward tipped the scales at 171.8, while Smith came in at 176.4. In Smith’s last bout in February against Arthur Abraham, he weighed in at 165.5.
The fight airs tonight at 10 p.m. on BET.
