Earlier today, Shannon Briggs accosted current heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and demanded a title shot. The footage comes courtesy of Pound 4 Pound TV, which shows a shirtless Briggs having to be restrained as Klitschko calmly remains seated while getting his hands wrapped. Briggs vows that he’s “back” and promises to stalk both brothers until he gets another shot.
The 42-year old Briggs last fought in October 2010, losing a 12-round unanimous decision against then WBC champion Vitali Klitschko. Afterward, Briggs was hospitalized due to an assortment of injures, including a broken left orbital bone, a torn left bicep and a broken nose.
Briggs was scheduled to have a comeback bout earlier this month in Atlanta. The bout was canceled when Briggs could not be cleared by the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission.
Wladimir Klitschko is currently training for a title defense on April 26 against Alex Leapai.

Where to start….
You know what, nevermind. Let’s just be thankful this fight won’t be coming off anytime soon. Shannon Briggs took a career-ending beating close to four years ago and there’s no reason to think at 40-plus years old he has much left except the bravado of past accomplishments. If he gets back in the ring and does some damage, I’ll eat my words. Until then, his words will simply be for the bemusement of whomever cares to listen. In this case, he provided Wladimir with an afternoon laugh.
