If you aren’t excited about the September 8 fight between Andre Ward and Chad Dawson, then look no further than the undercard bout featuring Antonio DeMarco defending his WBC lightweight title against John Molina Jr. DeMarco engaged in one of the best fights of 2011 when he stormed back from being outboxed by Jorge Linares to beat him into bloody submission. On the flip side, Molina Jr. gained attention back in late 2010 with an upset of then undefeated Hank Lundy. Since then, he’s waited for the big opportunity that presents itself next month.
Both like to bang inside so it’s hard to envision this being anything other than a war. At yesterday’s press conference in Sherman Oaks, California, DeMarco detailed what he’s expecting on September 8.
