Tax officials in the Philippines have filed a criminal complaint against boxing titlist and congressman Manny Pacquiao over failure to cooperate with an investigation into his 2010 tax return.

Tax officials in the Philippines have filed a criminal complaint against boxing titlist and congressman Manny Pacquiao over failure to cooperate with an investigation into his 2010 tax return.

The complaint was filed on March 1 after Pacquiao did not answer three notices and a subpoena to submit documents clarifying tax irregularities.

Pacquiao faces up to two years in prison if the case goes to trial.

In 2011, Pacquiao is estimated to have earned over $40 million and generated over 2 million pay-per-view buys in bouts against Shane Mosley and Juan Manuel Marquez.

At press time, Pacquiao could not be reached for comment.
