At this rate, Drake’s Take Care should be fully leaked in the next few hours. The Just Blaze-produced and Rick Ross featuring “Lord Knows” begins with a gospel-tinged refrain reminiscent of the final minutes of Just’s Game and Nas collabo “What You Hate the Game.” Drizzy’s later slick lines about his critics should hold your attention. Ross opens with some nice wordplay, but he mostly keeps his verse confined to his usual boss talk. The Weekend track is cool since his stronger vocals have a more dominant presence. It keeps it from becoming your standard Drake bubble bath ballad. Hopefully the album doesn’t OD on tracks like this and “Marvin’s Room.”
