Ah, the irony of the Hip-Hop world. Upon being released from federal prison, T.I. tweeted that his music would be back on that “dopeboy” and “trap music” steez. Outside the studio, that mentality has had him in and out of jail cells the last few years. But when it comes to music, that return is likely the best thing he can do for his sound. No further proof needs to be heard than Tip’s flow on “I’m Flexin’.” With K.R.I.T.’s music deservedly heralded as a return to classic southern Hip-Hop, it was smart of T.I. to choose this production over the “stadium sound” and dub-step beats most run to these days. If this is a taste of what Tip can do over K.R.I.T. arrangements, the Grand Hustle CEO should consider enlisting the Mississippi upstart for a few more album cuts.
