“Break ups are never easy…they become even harder when kids are involved. My son got caught in the middle of a nasty break up…this song was my way of letting him and the rest of the world know that I will not be stopped. I will always go above and beyond to be the best father I can be…are bond is unbreakable.”
When parents break up and fight, it’s the children that suffer the most. As an emcee, G. Huff is doing his best to heal that riff through “Jaylon Andre the Prince,” a song dedicated to his son. Starting out, you can hear the defensiveness and anger in G. Huff’s lyrics as he tries to explain why he can’t along with his child’s mother. However, this softens as the song progresses, and Huff acknowledges that no matter how much resentment there is, he can never truly hate her because together they created their son. And for that, Huff says she will forever deserve praise (“Your mom’s a good woman even though I didn’t marry her/ If I’m not around/ Make sure you take care of her…”). This track is included on G. Huff and Vice’s Where Do We Go From Here?, available now through iTunes.
