Say what you will about Rick Ross (and you can say quite a lot…), but the man has a winning formula at the moment. Atlantic Records is hoping that sound will translate to Estelle, who features Ross’s trademark production on “Break My Heart.” Don Cannon is behind the boards, and the track has the feel and pacing of Rozay’s “Super High.” Estelle sounds fine, but it’s not a song that really showcases her natural quirkiness or talent. In all honesty, she could be replaced here any R&B siren, and most people will undoubtedly assume this is a Ross song from the arrangements. Still, it’s good to see Estelle back and hopefully her LP is not dominated by features.
