If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. Many will remember Pellegrino’s name for his work in the New York underground during the late 90s. Recently, he’s come back with a more mainstream, radio-friendly style. The clearest example of that transition is a new track with Chris Brown (!) entitled “Love.”
Pellegrino doesn’t embarrass himself here, but it’s clear this is a Chris Brown track from the beat to the arrangements. The young singer dominates the proceedings, which may turn into a good thing. This is definitely a dance floor joint that I can see doing well at clubs: good bass, easy to remember lyrics and a synthesizer melody.
