Looking for more Blu in 2011? One of the West Coast’s best is ready to oblige you. This summer Blu’s dropping a major label project called No York, with production and collaborations from J*Davey, Bilal, Sa-Ra, Exile, Flying Lotus and Madlib. After that, he plans on releasing the very long-awaited follow-up album with Exile. For the record, it won’t be called Below the Heavens 2.
I had the pleasure of meeting Blu a few years back, and I can say he’s one of the most easy-going and humble guys in the industry. For all the acclaim, he’s kept his ego in control and remained focused on the quality of his art above anything else.
