As promised, J*Davey has dropped their latest mixtape project, Evil Christian Cop. The five song EP is a continuation of their Great Mistapes series, and shows the duo pulling directly from their eclectic influences. From Nirvana to Suzanne Vega, fans will hear those inspirations directly in the form of covers (“Smells Like Teen Spirit’) and lyrical allusions (“Quicksand”). It would be limiting and a disservice to call J*Davey a dance group. But they do show that pop and dance grooves can be done with style and high creativity. Do yourself a favor and vibe out to this on your lunch break.
