On February 21, Los Angeles-based duo J*Davey will release a free EP called Evil Christian Cop, and kick off a short tour with fellow LA artist Blu.
Evil Christian Cop will be the group’s second part of their free EP series, The Great Mistapes, through jdavey.bandcamp.com. The five song project will also be their first since December 2009’s Boudoir Synema. Two months ago, the duo turned heads with an electronic cover of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
J*Davey’s tour with Blu kicks off in time for the SXSW music conference next month. An East Coast portion of the tour will commence in April, and head overseas to Europe in May. At press time, all the tour dates will be announced shortly via J*Davey’s new website www.theillav8r.com. Their SXSW debut will come on March 18 as a part of the Audible Treats x PrefixMag.com showcase at Nuvola.
