Decades ago, an unknown individual in boxing connected the dots between the allure of sex and violence. His eureka moment resulted in him adding beautiful women, who’d come to be known as ring card girls, as brief interludes between the rounds of boxing matches. If this DJ Khaled and Trae the Truth clip is any indication, another person has evolved that concept further. A Houston, Texas strip club, The All New High Rollers, is now offering boxing as a brief interlude between your lap dances and pole-dance gawking. In this clip, you can see a smaller guy doing his best Sam Langford impersonation by laying out a much larger opponent with two nasty knockdowns.
As humorous as this is on many levels, unsupervised bouts are only a laughing matter until someone gets seriously hurt. I didn’t see a doctor in sight. And why would there be; the ring had the same crude set-up that the old timers engaged in back in the late 1800s. Luckily, the defeated man’s girlfriend stepped in before things got really out of hand.
