Joe Budden fans have reason to celebrate with a new trailer hinting at the direction of the Jersey emcee’s fourth installment of the acclaimed Mood Muzik series. This intro has Budden entering an apartment complex while reflecting on the highs and lows that have befelled his career over the last year and a half. Budden’s progress is halted by a slow eleveator, which gives him time to ponder his situation while a new, somber track dubbed “Black Cloud” plays. Included are images ftom concerts, a freestyle battle, and never before seen footage of his physical street altercation with former A-Team member Ransom. In addition, the clips show a tearful, highly upset then girlfriend Tahiry berating him for turning their private lives into internet fodder.

Mood Muzik 2 is the unquestioned best of the series, but there hasn’t been a bad entry yet and I don’t think that’ll change with this one. Of course, Budden has had recent drama to tap into for the emotional topics people expect from him. Recent albums like Padded Room and Escape Route were solid in the lyrics department but a mixed bag when it came to the beats. For the most part, that hasn’t been a problem with the Mood Muzik series and I don’t expect a falloff here. Joey knows what he fans want from that series and he’ll be sure to deliver.
There’s a rumored release date of October 26 being thrown around but nothing definite yet.
