Overtime Boxing (OTX) is bringing its high-stakes brand of fight night energy back to Atlanta this summer, headlining with a compelling featherweight main event featuring two heavy-hitting southpaws. On Friday, July 25, Elijah “WXXXLF” Pierce (20-2, 16 KOs), a local favorite from Loganville, GA, faces seasoned Filipino contender Michael “Hot and Spicy” Desmarinas (36-4-2, 25 KOs) in a ten-round bout at the historic Tabernacle venue downtown.
The event, dubbed OTX15, marks the promotion’s return to its home base with what is being billed as its most ambitious card yet.
“OTX15 marks our return home to Atlanta in a major way,” said Brandon Rhodes, General Manager of Overtime Boxing. “We’re taking over The Tabernacle—our biggest venue yet—and bringing a stacked card with hometown heroes, rising prospects, and real world title implications. Fans can expect nonstop action and the kind of 50/50 matchups that define the OTX brand.”
The night also features a women’s world championship co-main event as Oshae “Suga” Jones (8-0, 3 KOs), an Olympic bronze medalist and one of the sport’s rising stars, challenges Elia “Soul Snatcher” Carranza (11-1, 3 KOs) for the IBF and IBO Super Welterweight titles in a scheduled ten-round bout.
Another bout generating local interest is an all-Georgia featherweight showdown between Haven “Hitman” Brady Jr. (15-0, 8 KOs) of Albany and Atlanta’s own DeMichael “Trigga Man” Harris (12-1-1, 11 KOs). The ten-rounder pits two young contenders with explosive power and regional bragging rights on the line.
