Oscar Valdez recently shared his thoughts on Emanuel Navarrete’s commitment to boxing, expressing doubt that Navarrete loves the sport as much as he does.
In an exclusive BeatsBoxingMayhem interview. Valdez emphasized his deep passion for boxing, describing it as his true calling and a dream he was born to pursue. Valdez clarified that he was not being disrespectful, but rather pointing out the stark contrast in how he feels about boxing compared to Navarrete, who seems less invested in the long-term future of his career.
“Honestly, he doesn’t love it as much as I do. I love the sport way too much — this is my passion, my dream. This is what I was born to do. I was born to fight. This is not me repeating it in a disrespectful way. This is me repeating things he’s said about wanting to retire soon and he doesn’t feel it as much as he used to. So, for me, it’s why are you saying that? It’s unbelievable to think that because I love this. I doubt he loves it as much as I do.
Navarrete-Valdez II and the featherweight rematch between WBO champion Rafael Espinoza and Cuban star Robeisy Ramirez will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT. Sky Sports will have coverage in the U.K. and Ireland.
