CINCINNATI — Earlier today, Adrien Broner came in at his lightest weight in two years for his title matchup against Khabin Allakhverdiev. Broner tipped the scales at 138.5, his lowest weight since posting 134 in his final lightweight bout in February 2013 against Gavin Rees. Allakhverdiev came in at 139 for his third consecutive fight.
Tomorrow’s contest is for the vacant WBA super lightweight title and will air on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET. Additonal bouts include a co-feature of Jose Pedraza vs. Edner Cherry, and Sho Extreme bouts featuring Robert Easter Jr. vs. Juan Solis, and Jamel Herring vs. Yakubu Amidu.
